An east-coast Old Town setting

The Old Times Lanta occupies a traditional wooden pole house over the sea in Koh Lanta Old Town, on the island’s east coast. Its setting is a central part of the attraction: a timber house connected to the water and Old Town, rather than a west-coast beach resort.

The host’s Behind Blue Eyes offer is a private room for two with one bed and a private bathroom. Air conditioning, Wi-Fi and a hot shower are listed, with a shared sunrise deck. This specific room is offered without breakfast. These details should not automatically be applied to every category at The Old Times.

Comfort and weather both shaped a visit

Angus M’s December 2022 account praised welcoming host Joe and clean, stylish, comfortable accommodation, with restaurants and shops nearby. Strong winds during the late monsoon made nights noisy, however. The report identifies a tradeoff of the exposed timber-and-water setting rather than establishing a permanent noise problem.

The clearest fit is someone who specifically wants Old Town and the over-water atmosphere. Confirm the named room and meal arrangements, and consider how wind or weather could affect sleep. The shared deck is a communal space, not a private terrace guaranteed with every room.
