A boutique hotel within an older community

CHU Hotel Chiangmai is at 6/1 Charoen Muang Road Soi 1, Wat Ket, east of Chiang Mai’s Old City. The official description presents a contemporary boutique hotel set within an older community. Choose it with that neighbourhood in mind rather than assuming an address within the old-town moat.

Property information lists a garden, sun terrace, Wi-Fi and a 24-hour reception. Selected accommodation has a kitchenette, refrigerator, microwave and dining space. Confirm which of these belong to your category: the availability of a kitchenette in one room does not establish self-catering equipment throughout the hotel.

Family categories are not interchangeable

Listed room sizes range from approximately 32 square metres for Superior to 40 for Deluxe and 50 for Premier Suite. The 68-square-metre family options include a one-bedroom king-and-twin arrangement and a two-bedroom, two-bathroom option with two king beds. The same area figure therefore does not imply the same privacy or sleeping layout.

Guest praise with practical qualifications

A verified guest’s one-night January 2025 stay, reviewed on 1 February, brought praise for a large, clean, quiet room with a kitchenette, but criticism of a hard bed and dated condition. Miwa’s six-night August 2023 visit, reviewed on 9 August, likewise favoured spacious accommodation, quiet surroundings and helpful staff.

Tienchung’s review dated 25 December 2023 praised a clean, spacious room and friendly staff, while reporting a shower design that allowed water to overflow. These are individual experiences. The useful booking distinctions are room layout, kitchenette provision and bathroom design, alongside the Wat Ket location.
