A hillside base rather than a floating stay
Khao Sok Hill Top Resort is listed at 351 Moo 6, Khlong Sok, Phanom, Surat Thani. This is land-based accommodation outside the village, rather than a raft house on Cheow Lan Lake. Listings describe a garden, terrace, restaurant and parking, with WiFi in public areas.
Arrange the arrival route and village transport before setting out. A park-distance figure on a booking page does not establish how far every restaurant, trail entrance or transfer point will be from your accommodation.
Check whether you are booking a tent or a room
Recent guest accounts discuss basic platform tents with mattresses, fans and shared toilets and showers. The photographs also show a furnished room and a bungalow exterior; they do not establish which category your booking includes. Ask for the precise sleeping arrangement, bathroom access and available ventilation.
Ben’s 22 March 2026 review liked the food and helpful host, describing a basic tent and functional washing facilities but a location far from the village. Muhammad’s 15 October account praised staff and the tent view.
Balance the view against comfort expectations
Other experiences were less positive. Bogdan’s 23 March 2026 account reported a changed tent booking, holes admitting mosquitoes, bathroom concerns and a departure-transport price disagreement. Greta’s February review liked the view and food but found her tent small and uncomfortable, with an awkward fan lead.
These individual reports do not establish every unit’s condition. Confirm the booked category, insect protection and transport price, especially if enclosed accommodation and a private bathroom are priorities.
