An island resort away from the beach edge
Mook Lamai Resort and Spa is on Koh Mook, also called Ko Muk, in Trang province. Its inland setting lies between Charlie Beach and the village, rather than directly on the beach. That distinction matters when deciding whether the priority is stepping onto sand or returning to a pool and garden after island outings.
Property listings describe an outdoor pool, restaurant and air-conditioned rooms with private bathrooms and terraces. Expedia separately identifies a Private Pool Grand Villa category. A room facing the shared pool and a villa with its own pool are different choices, so establish the exact category before comparing prices or photographs.
Staff praise and firmer beds recur
Michael’s 8 April 2026 review displayed on Planet of Hotels praised staff, a complimentary taxi service during the visit, clean rooms and pool, but found the bed firm. Peter, reviewing on 6 February after five days in a regular villa and one in a pool villa, liked the quiet pool, gardens, ordered breakfast and help from Pat and Tid, describing walking and tricycle transport from the inland location.
Bart’s 17 January 2026 account likewise appreciated a modern, clean room, air conditioning and staff but found the bed very hard. These reports describe individual stays, not a guaranteed transport or service package.

Plan arrival and the beach routine
Agree boat connections and island transport before travelling, including the routes, hours and charges of any resort-arranged rides. If mattress firmness is a deciding factor, ask about the booked room. Mook Lamai is most persuasive when a pool-based island stay suits the trip and the journey to the beach is an accepted part of the routine.
